Hi Lorraine, This is disgraceful. Have you tried ringing the NRAS helpline to see if they can advise you what to do? They will ring you back so it won't cost you.

Thats good news at last Lorraine, but it still is'nt good enough. It's a disgrace that in this day and age a person such as yourself has to jump through hoops to get any pain relief. If and when you feel up to it I would approach my GP and discuss things with him. Mine wrote to my consultant with my concerns and when I had my next appointment he went through things with me.
All the best John.

That's excellent news! At least you can see some hope when it's only a week to go.
I'd explain how you feel you've been treated when you see the consultant and ask him/her to map out what you can expect in the future. I think it's pretty outrageous that you are not being given the treatments you need to at least try and ease the pain.
Good luck with it,
Joanna

Glad to hear the appointment has been brought forward but still think you ought to get your GP to come out and see you if you still can't walk and are in a lot of pain.

Dear Lorraine,
Thank goodness that you have been given an appointment. Please let the consultant know what the problem was with the last medication that you were given which didn't suit you. Hope that you get sorted out.

Thank Goodness!
You absolutely must stress how much pain you're in and don't leave until they have a plan for you!

Hi Lorraine. Thank goodness they've brought your appointment forward - as they should, of course. Good luck for Monday.

Hi Lorraine, I know how you feel!!!! I have had this too, and finally have an appt for Friday 12th. I have had to have a private consultation, and he recommended what he thinks I should be on, so will be telling them this. Its so wrong to be left in pain, who do they think they are??? Mine has been going on for the last 3 weeks. Make sure when you go that you insist on proper treatment, dont let them tell you, "wait and see" thats what happens to me, each time they put up the mtx by one pill and thats it. NOT this time!!! Good luck Lorraine, I really hope this is a successful appt for you, take care x BARBARA

Hi Lorraine, Really glad you got your appointment moved frward but agree with the others - if you need more effective pain releif now you really shouldnt have to wait for your appointment date to get this. Hope things go well for you next week, i always take a list now - things i dont want to leave without saying / asking. Im just wondering, do you have access to OT, physio - I found this support invaluable when first diagnosed and also a helpline straight through to rhumy nurses i can ring leave a message and they get back to me (usually straight away sometimes have to wait a couple of hours but they always do ring back) Be good idea to write done things u find difficult sometimes such as washing up - this is where the OT can step in with advice and access to all sorts of things to help make life a bit more manageable for you. Will be thinking of you, Take care love Liz xxxxx
